Town Facility Hours for Friday, March 22

The Ponoka Aquaplex, Arena Complex and Town Office at the Ponoka Civic Centre will close at Noon on Friday, March 22 to allow Town staff to pay their respects to the late Town Councillor Ted Dillon.

The Ponoka Aquaplex and Arena Complex will reopen at 4 p.m. on Friday for regular programming.

The Town Office at the Ponoka Civic Centre will reopen for business the next business day.

The Waste Transfer Station will continue to operate on regular winter hours (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on Friday, March 22.

The Town recognizes and honours Councillor Dillon for his valuable contributions to Town Council and as a long-time former employee of the Town who served 26 years as Fire Chief, and also as Director of Community Services and Director of Protective Services.

A celebration of life is being held for Councillor Dillon on Friday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stagecoach Saloon on the Ponoka Stampede grounds. Councillor Dillon passed away on March 9, 2024.
