Ponoka RCMP advise residents “If you see it, report it”

Ponoka RCMP are wanting to encourage residents to report any and all crime you see. In recent months RCMP have observed several incidents that were being discussed on public social media platforms that were never reported to the local detachment.

“Accurate timely reporting of crime is essential for our officers to not only effectively investigate and solve crime but also to proactively direct resources to combat emerging trends,” says Staff Sergeant Erin St-Cyr Detachment Commander of the Ponoka RCMP. “We encourage everyone who is a victim of a crime to report to your local detachment, we ask that you be willing to provide your account as a witness to help ensure an effective prosecution and secure a conviction in court.”

For up to date information about crime statistics and trends in your community, to report crime online, or for access to RCMP news and information, download the Alberta RCMP app through Apple or Google Play.

Ponoka RCMP will be hosting a public town hall this fall. We encourage anyone that want to discuss crime in their community feel free to stop by the detachment or attend the forum. We would love to hear from you!
