Skating Trail at Lions Centennial Park Update

With the recent drop in temperatures, work has begun on building an ice skating trail in Lions Centennial Park this week. Town of Ponoka Operations staff and the Ponoka County Regional Fire Services are partnering once again to build and maintain the skating trail this year.

Please note:

• While the ice trail is being built, skaters are asked to please stay off the ice until the Town announces that the trail is complete and ready for skaters. 
• Skating on the ice too soon (before it's thick enough and smooth enough for skaters) will damage the ice surface and prolong the ice-making process, delaying the opening of the trail. 
• Once the trail is ready for skaters, an announcement will be posted here on the Town website, on social media @TownofPonoka and on the Town app.
• Weather permitting, we are hopeful the skating trail will be open by early January.
