Watch Your Mailbox for the 2025 Town of Ponoka Waste Collection Calendar
Town of Ponoka residents should watch their mailboxes this week for the new 2025 Waste Collection Calendar. The new calendars are in the mail and are expected to arrive before Friday.
You can also find a printable version of the 2025 Waste Collection Calendar on the Town of Ponoka by clicking here.
The Waste Collection Calendar offers important information about the Town’s curbside collection program, including:
- A colour-coded calendar and collection zone map to help you track which days to place your waste, recycling and compost materials at the curb for pick up;
- What items should be placed in your grey cart, green cart and in clear or blue transparent bags for recycling;
- Proper placement of your recycling bags, green carts and grey carts at the curb on collection days; and
- Information about statutory holidays.
- All waste collection days that fall on a statutory holiday in 2025 will still receive service on those days, with the exception of Christmas day.
- If your regular collection day falls on December 25, collection will happen on December 24 or December 26. The Town will announce the exact date in 2025 on the Town website, on social media @TownofPonoka and on the back of your utility bill.
Waste collection in 2025 will continue to happen on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, depending on the zone you live in:
- Grey carts for household garbage will continue to be emptied every second week (biweekly);
- Green carts for compost will continue to be emptied every second week (biweekly) from November 1 to April 30 and every week from May 1 to October 31; and
- Recyclables in transparent plastic bags will continue to be picked up every second week (biweekly).
