Ringsteken is a traditional Dutch game where points are awarded for each ring a competitor ‘catches.’ Rings are caught by riders who are either in a carriage or on horseback trotting towards the ring and attempting to put a lance through it.
The horses will be ridden or driven to the event at 5:30 p.m. from the Ponoka Arena Complex (4410 - 54 Street) to Downtown Ponoka. The Ringsteken event begins at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 8:00 p.m. The riders and horses will then return to the Ponoka Arena Complex.
