The Town of Ponoka, Wolf Creek Public Schools, the Ponoka Jubilee Library and Canadian Heritage have partnered to host a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation community-wide event called ‘Discovering Truth’ on Thursday, September 29 from 1 – 3 p.m.
Discovering Truth is a tribute to the legacy of residential schools and discovering new found truths. This event also celebrates the diversity and cultural heritage of Ponoka through guest speakers, drumming, Pow Wow dancing, Bannock and refreshments.
Attendees are encouraged to wear orange. This event will be held in the field between Ponoka Elementary School and the Youth Centre along Highway 2A. Parking is available in Lions Centennial Park or along 54 Street. Please do not park in the bus loop for the Ponoka Youth Centre, the Brick Learning Centre and Ponoka Elementary School.
