6.1 Borrowing Bylaw for 46 Street Intersection and Highway 53 Upgrades
Council passed the second and third reading of the Borrowing Bylaw 01-2025 for funding the upgrades to improve the 46 Street intersection and Highway 53 upgrades. The Town of Ponoka has partnered with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors to complete improvements and rehabilitation of Highway 53 (between Highway 2A and 38 Street) in Ponoka.
7.1 Notice of Motion – Business Advertising
Council passed a motion directing administration look into the feasibility of the Town of Ponoka partnering with, or offering small businesses registered with the Town, opportunity for promoting, advertising or wayfinding options or in creating advertising awareness.
7.2 2025 Election Bylaw No. 06-2025
Council passed first reading of the 2025 Election Bylaw No. 06-2025 to align with the Alberta Government’s amendments to the Local Authorities Election Act.
7.3 Aquaplex Budget Improvement Project Budget Adjustment
Council passed a motion to approve the interim budget increase of $55,000 for the Ponoka Aquaplex Improvement project to be funded from the General Benefit Reserve. This project is to replace three pool filters at the Aquaplex, which have reached the end of their lifecycle and are critical components of the water treatment system.
7.4 Community Peace Officer Program – March 2025 Report
Council accepted the Community Peace Officer Program March 2025 Report for information.
