Racquetball Court Improvements Completed; Courts will Reopen on Friday
Improvements to the two indoor racquetball courts at the Ponoka Arena Complex are now complete, and the courts will reopen to the public Friday, May 17. The improvements to the courts include:
- New floors;
- New lighting;
- New painted lines including pickleball lines; and
- New entry carpet.
“The improvements to the courts and the addition of pickleball lines painted on the courts will greatly improve the user experience and provide a quality play surface for years to come. These improvements will also support the continued growth of pickleball, racquetball, squash and wallyball in our community,” said Andrew Jones, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities for the Town of Ponoka.
Users can book time at the courts online at www.ponoka.ca/p/recreation, or by phoning 403-783-0131 or in person at the Arena Complex or Aquaplex.
Jones noted that the indoor court improvements align with Ponoka Town Council’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan by enhancing the quality of life that Ponoka citizens enjoy through the addition and improvement of outdoor recreation amenities.
