Public Hearing on Town of Ponoka Land Use Bylaw Amendment

Citizens are invited to a public hearing for Bylaw No. 481-23 on Tuesday, October 10 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers on the third floor of the Ponoka Civic Centre (5604 50 Street).
Persons wishing to speak will be requested to state their name and address for the record upon being recognized by the Chairperson.
Town Council will hear submissions made in person or by the agent from any person who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw. Individuals may speak for a maximum of five minutes.
Bylaw No. 481-23 proposes to amend the Town’s Land Use Bylaw by listing “mixed use development with dwelling unit on the main floor,” as a Discretionary Use within the Central Commercial (C1) District.
The proposed amendment would allow for residential dwelling units to be developed on the main floor at the rear of a C1 commercial building.
