What does the City of Red Deer do to ensure the water is safe?
The City of Red Deer monitors water quality daily at various stages of treatment, as well as in the distribution system. This process ensures that all water quality parameters meet and exceed the acceptable limits as outlined in the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality and by Alberta Environment, Parks and Protected Areas. Every year, water is sampled 8,000 times. The City of Red Deer laboratories conducts approximately 20,000 tests on those samples.
