Street Sweeping

• Watch for community advisory signs, which are posted 48 hours in advance to give residents notice of when street sweeping is scheduled to occur in their neighbourhood;
  
  
• Please move parked vehicles from roadways on which ‘no parking’ signs are posted. This is a requirement under the Town’s Traffic Bylaw 388-17 and may result in fines and towing of the vehicle at the owner’s expense if needed;
  
  
• Please remove basketball nets, driveway mats and any on-street obstructions;
  
  
• Sweep any dirt or debris on your driveway or sidewalk into the gutter in advance;
  
  
• Street sweeping will not occur on your waste collection day. Please roll out your carts and bagged recycling as you normally would; and
  
  
• Do not park on the street until ‘no parking’ signs have been removed.

Please watch for ‘no parking’ signs and move parked vehicles from roadways on which ‘no parking’ signs are posted. Please note that vehicles only need to be removed from the roadway if ‘no parking’ signs are posted along that particular street.

Moving parked vehicles from roadways allows crews to conduct street-sweeping operations safely and more efficiently. 

Removing your parked vehicle from roadways on which ‘no parking’ signs are posted in advance of street sweeping operations is a requirement under the Town’s Traffic Bylaw 388-17 and may result in fines and towing of the vehicle at the owner’s expense if needed.

Will be posted in neighbourhoods where street sweeping is scheduled to occur in the near future. 

These signs simply provide citizens with advance notice of when street sweeping will be happening in their neighbourhood. They are different from the ‘no parking’ signs that are placed along roadways the day before street sweeping is scheduled to happen on a particular street.

Town crews work in conjunction with the Alberta Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors, which is responsible for street sweeping on Highways 2A and 53 in Ponoka.
